Paul Walker Jokes Will Be Cut from Justin Bieber's Roast
Comedy Central confirmed that viewers won't see those remarks.
— -- There were a few jokes made about the late "Fast and Furious" star Paul Walker during the "The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber" -- but you won't see them on TV.
A spokesperson for Comedy Central told The Hollywood Reporter that those remarks will not be included when the show airs March 30.
“Roasts often push the limits of good taste and we give the participants full rein to try things knowing we have the edit to shape the show,” the spokesperson stated. “Sometimes the line is discovered by crossing it. The Paul Walker references will not be in the telecast," the spokesperson added.
After the taping, Bieber said he “didn’t particularly like” the jokes about Walker.
That might not have been the only thing he didn't like.
Comedian Kevin Hart told Jimmy Kimmel that Bieber may have shed a tear or two this past weekend during the roast.
"It went a little rough," Hart said to laughs. "Yeah, I'm not gonna lie."
"There were some moments where I was like, 'Justin's gonna cry in the car,'" he added. "You know how you can look at a person and they're trying to have good time, but you can tell there's a tear?"
Hart said given that the guests were ready to rip into the pop star, a tear would have amounted to blood in the water in a tank full of sharks.
"I kept pointing back at him, like, 'You better hold it back, boy! Don't you -- you don't let the cameras see it come down," he said. "He did one knee slap where I think he covered up a cry."
Hart said in the end, he gained respect for Bieber, and sees a different side of the singer emerging.
"At the end of it... what I love the most... Justin Bieber stood on stage and he gave his rebuttal...acknowledging all the stuff that he's done, and saying that he's now in a different place in life, he's ready to mature and move on," he said. "That's such a nice place to do it, because it's like, 'Hey, let me be an adult, let me be a man now, and let me go on with my life.'"
