    In 1994, Miami businessman Marc Schiller, seen here, was kidnapped, tortured and robbed of all his assets. The men who did it ran over him twice to kill him, but he lived to seek revenge. His kidnappers were convicted and then his own legal problems began. A movie based on Schiller's story, "Pain & Gain," is set to open in April.

    Ed Du Bois, seen here, is the private investigator Marc Schiller called from the hospital after surviving the murder attempt by his captors. Du Bois says he didn't know what to make of Schiller's tale, but warned him that, if it was true, he should leave the hospital as soon as possible, because the gang would try to kill him again.

    Daniel Lugo, seen here, was the manager of Sun Gym, where he met Jorge Delgado, Marc Schiller's former protégé. Lugo had a criminal record, and Schiller says at one point he told Delgado not to trust him. Soon after, Delgado pulled away from Schiller, said prosecutor Gail Levine. But Lugo encouraged Delgado to target Schiller and became the mastermind of the so-called Sun Gym Gang.
