Queen Latifah Ready to Be a Mom
Actress and singer is ready for motherhood at age 45.
— -- Queen Latifah is finally ready for children.
"I'm little bit of a procrastinator," Latifah, 45, told E! Online while promoting her new film "Miracles From Heaven."
"I had some things to deal with. I had to get a lot of partying out of my system early in life for about 40 years. You know what I'm saying. I'm good now," she said. "I think I'm ready."
But she's not sure just how many kids she's ready for.
"I can't say what God has for me, but you will see," the actress and talk host said. "You'll see when I'm lugging the baby on the hip that there is actually a youngin' around here."
She's also thinking, "maybe I'll adopt a child that's not necessarily a baby. There are a lot of kids that need love out there," she said. "I want to be there for somebody. I got to get all this stuff and give it to somebody."
In April 2014, Latifah told Jet magazine that she was exploring the option to expand her family through adoption.
"It's something I'm exploring," she told the magazine. "I've wanted to adopt since I was 18 because I grew up with friends who could've used good parents. Maybe it's my romanticism of after-school specials where someone would adopt a child and life would be great afterward. I have a lot of love to give."
