Raven-Symoné Leaving 'The View' for 'That's So Raven' Spin-Off
The former child star will exec-produce and star in the Disney Channel spin-off.
— -- Raven-Symoné will be leaving "The View" to begin a new chapter of her eponymous series "That's So Raven" for the Disney Channel.
The announcement was made today on "The View," where Raven-Symoné has been a co-host since June 2015.
"I'm excited and sad, but mostly excited," the 30-year-old former child star said on the show.
The untitled spin-off series will bring back her character Raven Baxter.
"I'm still me," the actress said. "I'm a mother this time, a single mother raising two kids, and one is going to learn that she has visions."
Raven-Symoné also expressed her sadness about leaving "The View" later this year to relocate to Los Angeles where the new sitcom is being developed.
"I've had such a great time," she said, giving a shout-out to some of the crew members behind the scenes. "My experience has been multi-dimensional."
Raven-Symoné will both star and executive produce the new series.
The original series, about a psychic teenager who tries her best to keep her psychic powers a secret, aired from 2003 to 2007 on the Disney Channel.
