Russell Wilson Explains Why He Didn't Save Cake From Recent Wedding
The NFL player explained why he didn't save his wedding cake.
— -- It's a well-known wedding tradition: couples save the top of their wedding cake to celebrate their union on their first anniversary.
But newlyweds Russell Wilson and Ciara will have to find another way to mark one year of marriage: They didn't save their cake after tying the knot July 6 in England.
"It was hard to bring back the cake from Liverpool to America, and I'd truly be a fat kid if I did that," the Seattle Seahawks player told E! News.
There was another reason why they couldn't save the top of their cake, Wilson, 27, said.
"We ate pretty much all the cake already so I don't think there was any more cake toppings at all," he added.
This is the first marriage for Ciara, 30, who has a son from a previous relationship, and the second marriage for Wilson.
