LeVar Burton, who hosted the long-running PBS series, has announced that the "Family Guy" creator has offered to donate up to $1 million to the Reading Rainbow Kickstarter campaign.

Burton stated on the campaign's page that for each dollar pledged over the four-million mark, MacFarlane will match it, up to one million dollars.

At last check, the fundraiser had raised 4.034 million.

Burton last month launched the campaign to bring an online version of "Reading Rainbow" to underfunded classrooms. His initial goal of one million dollars was easily met, and now he's hoping to reach five million by next week.
