— -- Steve Harvey could not contain his emotions as he spoke with Miss Colombia for the first time since the 2015 Miss Universe pageant.

Harvey finally got the chance to apologize to Ariadna Gutierrez in person after mistakenly naming her Miss Universe, then having to correct himself and take the title away from her on live television last month.

The heartfelt apology was filmed during the second part of the special taping for Harvey's syndicated daytime talk show "Steve Harvey," titled "Miss Universe: The Truth."

"I just wanted to say how sorry I am," Harvey tearfully said to Miss Colombia. "I am beyond sorry for what happened that night."

Gutierrez revealed that after the Miss Universe pageant, she remained relatively silent about the incident because she wanted to "take a rest" and be with family.

"It was like a nightmare," Gutierrez said. "I needed time to be with my family...to calm down, to think about what I'm going to say now, [and] what I'm going to do now."

Gutierrez noted that she had "already moved on" from the Miss Universe mix-up, and denied rumors that she was planning on suing the talk show host after admitting that she had been contacted by lawyers after the pageant.

"I never thought of suing," Gutierrez said. That's not me, that's not who I am."

Although Miss Colombia admitted that she had already forgiven Harvey for the Miss Universe mix-up, she did have a different bone to pick with the talk show host.

In a pre-taped recording for the show, Harvey flubbed Gutierrez's name, calling Miss Colombia "Ariana" instead of "Ariadna," and Gutierrez wasn't going to let him get away with it.

"You keep making mistakes," Gutierrez said. It's not Ariana, it's Ariadna," she jokingly exclaimed.
