U2 Leads List of Grammy Nominees

Jan. 4 -- U2 led all recording artists with eight Grammy nominations, including nods for record, album and song of the year.

Nominations for the 44th annual Grammy Awardswere announced today in Beverly Hills, Calif. The awards will be handed out Feb. 27.

India.Arie picked up seven nominations for her debut album, Acoustic Soul, including album, record and song of the year as well as best new artist.

Another nominee for best new artist, Alicia Keys, had six nominations.

"Beautiful Day," the first single off U2's highly acclaimed album All That You Can't Leave Behind, was awarded a Grammy last year. The album was released after the single, too late to qualify last year for honors.

Other nominees for top album include Bob Dylan for Love and Theft, India.Arie's Acoustic Soul, Outkast's Stankonia and the bluegrass compilation soundtrack to the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

For song of the year, a category that honors writers, U2's "Stuck In a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" is pitted against India.Arie's "Video," Keys' "Fallin,'" Train's "Drops of Jupiter" andNelly Furtado's "I'm Like a Bird."
