U2, Sting, Limp Bizkit Added to All-Star Tribute

September 21 -- U2, Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias, Limp Bizkit, and Sting have been added to the all-star roster for tonight's bicoastal fund-raising program America: A Tribute to Heroes, which airs on a multitude of networks at 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific Time, and 8 p.m. Mountain Time. (Those in the Central Time zone should check local listings.

Working the phones will be a far more glamorous bunch than your usual telethon or TV pledge week crews: Cindy Crawford, John Cusack, Danny DeVito, Goldie Hawn, Salma Hayek, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Brad Pitt, Chris Rock, Meg Ryan, Adam Sandler, and Sylvester Stallone.

An official companion Web site for the show has also been launched, (www.tributetoheroes.org), where donations can be made during and after the broadcast. The beneficiary of the money raised will be named during the live telecast of the program, organizers say.

Stars from all walks of life who have been previously announced for the historic event are (in alphabetical order): Bon Jovi, Amy Brenneman, Mariah Carey, Jim Carrey, George Clooney, Sheryl Crow, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, The Dixie Chicks, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Calista Flockhart, Dennis Franz, Kelsey Grammer, Tom Hanks, Faith Hill, Wyclef Jean, Billy Joel, Jane Kaczmarek, Alicia Keys, Willie Nelson, Conan O'Brien, Tom Petty, Julia Roberts, Ray Romano, Paul Simon, Will Smith, Jimmy Smits, Bruce Springsteen, Sela Ward, Robin Williams, Stevie Wonder, and Neil Young.

Thirty-one networks, including the Big Four and numerous cable networks, will be carrying the program, which will also be simulcast on more than 8,000 radio outlets across the country. Some channels unable to air the America: A Tribute to Heroes will be running a banner with donation information across the lower third of the television screen.

International viewers will also be able to catch the red-white-and-blue tribute in 156 countries around the world, although the program may be not shown live. AFN, the American Forces Network, will carry the program live on radio and television to American soldiers, sailors, airman, and marines in over 175 countries around the world.
