Maguire Ranked Worst Autograph Signer
August 20 -- Fans who want Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire's autograph are out of luck. According to Autograph Collector magazine, the moody pal of Leonardo DiCaprio is "so wrapped up in his own egotistical web that he has earned the distinction of being the worst signer of the year."
The magazine also claims that marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones has put a damper on Michael Douglas' signing days. "Catherine has never been an easy autograph catch, but when she married Michael Douglas, collectors hoped things would get better. Unfortunately, they got worse," writes the magazine. "Now Michael won't sign either when he accompanies her to events."
Other anti-autograph stars include Sean Connery, who "routinely turns people down," and Winona Ryder, who "still likes to use the excuse that she only signs for children," according to the magazine.
Fans trying to get too close to Britney Spears might get hurt, warns the magazine. "Britney won't give collectors the time of day. She travels with a huge bodyguard who literally tosses people aside if they try to get close to her."
Big stars who are ranked as autograph-friendly include this year's Best Actor and Best Actress Oscar winners: Russell Crowe, who only ever signs his first name, and Julia Roberts, who, according to the trade mag, became more accommodating after she hit the big time.
