April 23 -- Rapper Eminem is expected to avoid jail time after pleading no contest to weapons charges in Michigan stemming from a June 3 argument between the singer and members of Insane Clown Posse.

The Associated Press reports Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Denise Langford Morris is not now considering jail time for the troubled singer, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, but that could change after she reviews the case.

Eminem's attorney, Wally Piszczatowski, said the defense is "very pleased" with the wayMorris has handled the case, and that "she is treating Matherslike she would treat anybody else who comes before her."

Sentencing is set for June 5. Eminem is already serving probation after pleading guilty to a separate weapons charge.
