April 12 -- The psycho show must go on. Speculation that indie studio Lions Gate would create a sequel to last year's murderous yuppie flick, American Psycho, has finally resulted in a deal.

Mila Kunis, who plays ditzy Jackie on Fox's That '70s Show, will star as a co-ed freshman and a survivor of the original Psycho, Wall Street suit Patrick Bateman. Kunis' sexy student turns murderous when she develops a crush on one of her professors, Variety notes. Poison Ivy meets Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, perhaps?

Rush to Film Before Potential Strike

The remake, which will be directed by Morgan J. Freeman (Desert Blue), is being prepped for a mid-May shoot in Toronto whose citizens protested the first film's being shot there due to its violent content.

Lions Gate told The Hollywood Reporter that American Psycho 2 will wrap before the possible Screen Actors Guild strike this summer.

American Psycho, which starred Christian Bale and was adapted from the controversial 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, earned more than $15.1 million in its U.S. theatrical release, according to Variety.

More sequels could be in the hopper. "If we make good movies, we could have a franchise here," Michael Paseornek, president of Lions Gate, told Daily Variety. "It's up to us not to blow it."
