April 6 -- A magazine that printed a fabricated feature with Ashley Judd must pay "substantial damages," according to the BBC, after admitting to falsely attributing quotes to the Someone Like You star.

Now magazine will pay an undisclosed sum for an article it published by writer Gill Pringle, who based the story on an interview that never happened, the BBC reports. Judd sued the magazine for malicious falsehood and false attribution and was allegedly "outraged" by the fake story.

"The reality is that Ms. Pringle had no such interview and indeed has never met Ms. Judd," British solicitor Michael Skrein told the court. "In addition, a number of the statements in the article were false."

In addition to paying damages, Now will publish an apology to the actress, who has just signed a deal to star in the upcoming feature film Catwoman.
