James Taylor Expecting Twins
March 28 -- James Taylor's got a friend — and she's about to give him and his wife twins.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, 52, and his 47-year-old wife, Caroline Smedvig, are expecting twins, who will be delivered next month by a surrogate mom, the Boston Herald reports.
The babies, who are the biological children of Taylor and Smedvig, are being carried by a family friend, who underwent in vitro fertilization last year, the paper reports.
"[They] are absolutely thrilled, and James is just beside himself he's so excited," a friend of the Taylors told the Boston paper.
Taylor married Smedvig, a publicist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, last month, after being together for six years.
The pop singer has two children from a previous marriage to fellow singer Carly Simon. Sally, 27, and Ben, 24, are both musicians.
