December 19 -- Run-DMC's Crown Royal Set for Release

Groundbreaking rap trio Run-DMC's long-awaited Crown Royal which features appearances from such rockers as Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, Kid Rock, and Sugar Ray will hit stores Feb. 13. The group will unleash two singles, in two directions, in January. "Rock Show," which features Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins, will be aimed at rock radio, while "It's Over," produced by Jermaine Dupri, will be pressed on a 12-inch vinyl record and aimed at dance clubs.

40 Million Prefer Jive

"Don't give me that jive." You won't hear many kids saying that, especially since 40 million of them (OK, maybe some adults, too) bought copies of records by Jive artists this year, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Three Jive acts 'N Sync, the Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears moved a total of 31 million records this year. Other Jive artists, including R. Kelly, Mystikal, and Aaron Carter, racked up another 9 million in sales to bring the independent label to the enormous number.

Geldof Granted Custody of Yates Child

"Live Aid" producer Bob Geldof was awarded custody of 4-year-old Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, the daughter of his ex-wife, Paula Yates, and INXS singer Michael Hutchence. Britain's High Court ruled Monday that the child remain in the care of Geldof. She has stayed in Geldof's care, with her three half sisters, since September, when Yates was found dead in her home in London. Hutchence committed suicide in Australia three years ago. The late INXS leader's half-sister, Tina Shorr, was seeking custody of Heavenly, saying she would be better off without the publicity surrounding Geldof.
