L O S   A N G E L E S, Nov. 3 -- If they can stay together long enough, English rock band Oasis may finally get to crackthe elusive U.S. market next year by going on tour with the Black Crowes.

The bands respective managers announced on Thursday theyhave recently met to discuss the possibilities of a mounting aco-headlining tour tentatively set to begin in June.

If we can work out the details, the tour will mark thepairing of America and Englands greatest rock n roll bands.God help us all, Black Crowes manager Pete Angelus said in astatement.

Bad Track RecordSuch a tour would combine two volatile bands, each frontedby brothers who flaunt their classic rock influences: OasisLiam and Noel Gallagher worship the Beatles, while the CrowesChris and Rich Robinson favour the bluesy stylings of the Facesand the Allman Brothers Band.

Both bands have also suffered from declining record sales, although the Black Crowes remain a popular live draw. Alongwith English superstars like Pulp, Blur and Travis, Oasis havefailed to make much of an impression in the United States.

Oasis, once hailed as the biggest rock band in the world bythe British press, have suffered an annus horribilis this yearand have been rumored to be on the verge of breaking up.

The Gallaghers have feuded constantly with each other, their marriages dissolved, the new album Standing on theShoulder of Giants was a flop and two members left the band.

Meanwhile, the Black Crowes teamed up with former LedZeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page to mount a successful U.S. tourand release a double-live album. But plans to take the show toEurope and Japan were scuttled when Page was felled by amysterious back ailment in August.

The Robinsons have had their problems in the past but seemto be co-existing now. Chris has earned extra headlines bydating Almost Famous star Kate Hudson, daughter of actressGoldie Hawn.

Oasis are set to release a double live album, Familiar toMillions, later this month, while the Black Crowes arecurrently recording a studio album with producer Don Was, whohas worked with the Rolling Stones and Bonnie Raitt. It is setfor release next spring via Richard Bransons V2 Records.
