We've all suffered them.

Infecting our brains, they remain there for weeks or months endlessly repeating their catchiest hooks and cringe-inducing choruses.

They're the most annoying songs of 2006.

Whether or not they sounded great in the beginning, they've long since become unendurable on a par with car alarms and bad ringtones.

After talking to dozens of music critics and aficionados, here's our list:
