Rosie O'Donnell Leaving 'The View'
April 25, 2007 — -- Rosie O'Donnell, the outspoken co-host of the daytime talk show "The View" will leave the show when her contract expires in May, sources tell ABC News.
Entertainment Web site TMZ.com, which first reported the story, says the announcement could come as early as today.
No reason was given for the decision to leave. But sources tell ABC News O'Donnell may be pursuing other TV show offers; O'Donnell admits the show has been "stressful" for her.
Since O'Donnell joined the morning talk show last year, her outspoken opinions have landed her in several high-profile on-air feuds.
TV commentator Bill O'Reilly and O'Donnell traded barbs in the fall over O'Donnell's views on President Bush and the Iraq War.
And in December, Donald Trump and O'Donnell tussled after O'Donnell called Trump "a snake oil salesman" after Trump announced he would not fire scandal-plagued Miss USA Tara Conner. Trump threatened to sue O'Donnell, but later backed down.
