The Spears in Review, 2007

It's been quite a year for the Spears girls.

Britney shaved her head bald, checked in and out of rehab, and wielded a 3-foot-long umbrella at photographers ... all before March!

The singer went on to jump into the ocean clad in only her bra and panties, bomb at the MTV Video Music Awards, and she ran a red light with her two young sons in the back seat of her car -- all the while skipping hearings in her child-custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline to party hop all over the country.

Next to her older sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, 16, seemed like a saint. Until, of course, the star of Nickelodeon's hit TV show "Zoey 101," revealed to OK Magazine that she's pregnant.

Scroll through the photos below to relive the drama the Spears sisters created over the past year. They may not be role models, but in 2007, they were definitely the most buzz-worthy siblings in Hollywood.

On Feb. 16, Spears decided to cut it all off and go bald. She walked into a hair salon and asked owner Esther Tognozzi to cut off all her hair. When Tognozzi refused, Spears took the shears and did the job herself. According to salon owner Tognozzi, Spears showed little emotion as she chopped off her brunette locks, except for tears in her eyes and voicing fear over her mother's reaction when she looked at her newly shorn head in the mirror.

Before Rihanna made umbrellas famous this past summer, it was Britney who used one to attack paparazzi in February. The troubled pop star was reportedly furious at ex-husband Federline when he refused to let her see her boys late one night. Spears then went berserk and started hitting an empty SUV with an umbrella.

Once known as the innocent younger sister, Jamie Lynn strolls with her longtime boyfriend Casey Aldridge, 19. OK Magazine reports that the couple started dating when Jamie Lynn was 13 and Casey was 16.

In another "sheer" moment of Britney brilliance, Spears didn't let the lack of a swimsuit stop her from taking a dip in the ocean in July. The impulsive singer got a little wet and wild in her undergarments and wasn't afraid to play a little show-and-tell game with photographers. They later published a very unflattering view of her bare behind in the tabloids.

Britney can't seem to keep her private life private. In August, US Weekly featured an allegedly drunk and topless Spears frolicking in a Jacuzzi with a 21-year-old college student. The starlet reportedly seduced the student in a hotel pool, according to the magazine. Things seemed to be barreling out of control for the once-famous pop star, but the worst was yet to come.

Even though she was not nominated for any awards at this year's Teen Choice Awards, Jamie Lynn Spears showed up to support the network that airs her show, "Zoey 101."

Something about cars just might make Britney a little kooky. This time, she was attempting to pull her Mercedes into a parking spot when she hit a parked car. The "Drive Me Crazy" singer then hit the other car with her car door. The episode was caught on film by paparazzi and the fallen pop star turned herself in to authorities in October, who booked her on hit-and-run charges.

Billed by MTV as the comeback performance of the year, Britney's VMA performance went very wrong for both MTV and the singer. The pop star took the stage at the 2007 awards Sept. 9 to perform her new single, "Gimmie More." But Spears seemed like a shadow of her former self. Looking dazed and confused, she failed to connect with the audience as in previous years. At various times during her performance it was obvious that she was lip synching and fumbling the words to her own song.

And the saga of Spears continues … Losing custody of her two children seemed like rock bottom in a sea of moments from the past year that are hardly reminiscent of the naive pop princess of yesteryear. After refusing to see a parenting counselor or to subject to drug testing, and continuing to drive without a California-issued license, in September a judge ordered her to hand over full custody to ex-husband Kevin Federline. This picture, plastered all over the tabloids, showed that her two boys were not properly buckled in.

Jamie Lynn defends her sister as she is being heckled by a woman who reportedly followed them from a nearby Starbucks. The younger Spears is caught on camera yelling expletives to the woman, who stands there looking astonished. It was captured on video and posted all over the Web. Jamie Lynn had enough and just flipped out, but at least she didn't shave off all her hair like the elder Spears.

In late November, there were rumors circulating that Britney was once again pregnant. Amid the ongoing bitter custody battle came the news that she might be pregnant. The baby's daddy was music producer J.R Rotem, according to the article in InTouch magazine. He later sent out a text message dispelling these rumors.

Not to be outdone by her sister, on Dec. 19 Jamie Lynn announced to the world that she was expecting her first child. She is reportedly three months pregnant and the father of her baby is her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. Jamie Lynn reportedly kept her pregnancy a secret from her sister. The Spears' clan definitely ended the year with a BANG!
