June 2, 2014 -- Fashion designer and opinionated aesthete Tom Ford is set to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award tonight at the CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony.

And while the distinction celebrates an illustrious and decades-long career in the industry, it comes on the heels of more personal milestones for the fashion icon. After welcoming their first child, Alexander "Jack" John Buckley Ford, in 2012, Ford and his partner of 27 years, Richard Buckley, married in April. In an interview published today in Women's Wear Daily, the dapper designer reflected on the changes that domestic bliss has wrought.

On the subject of his shifting priorities, Ford declared:

"A lot of things I cared about before I don't care as much about anymore. ... [Fatherhood] has become the most important thing in my life. Everything else has had to recede, including my appearance. I don’t care about it. I care about being successful. I just don’t care about any of it as much. You can’t."

The birth of his son has also apparently inspired a newfound acceptance of the biological realities that most of us take for granted. “Yes. I've decided to age," Ford said. "Since we've had Jack I haven’t had a Botox injection or a filler. I haven't had time.”

We hope that the notoriously fabulous Ford will find a few spare moments to clean up for tonight's event. Still, we'll be on the lookout for laugh lines.
