March 19, 2014 -- The battle rounds on "The Voice" resumed on Tuesday night, with each coach -- Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher -- pairing two of his or her artists for a duet. While only one contestant can be named a winner of a battle, the other singer can remain in the competition if another coach chooses to use his or her "steal."

During the hour-long episode, viewers also saw each team's adviser lend a helping hand in rehearsals. To refresh your memory, the advisers are Aloe Blacc, for Team Adam; The Band Perry, for Team Blake; Blake's wife, Miranda Lambert, for Team Shakira; and Jill Scott, for Team Usher.

What You Missed on Monday: The Battle Rounds Begin

Here's what happened on Tuesday night's episode:

Clarissa Serna and Jeremy Briggs of Team Shakira took part in the first battle of the night. Together, they belted out "Cold as Ice," by Foreigner. Blake praised Jeremy for performing in the same key as Clarissa. Shakira wished Clarissa had been a little less dramatic with her vocals. Still, she felt she could do more with Clarissa going forward, so she chose her as the winner. Jeremy was not saved by the other coaches.

Adam brought together Caleb Elder and Delvin Choice for a cover of "The Man," by their adviser, Aloe. Blake felt Caleb struggled. Usher said Delvin made it seem like church when he reached the higher notes. Delvin advanced, while Caleb's journey ended.

At this point, the show quickly recapped some other battles:

Team Blake: Megan Rüger defeated Ria Eaton.

Team Shakira: Ddendyl triumphed over Lindsay Pagano.

Team Usher: Morgan Wallen won out over Brothers Walker.

The episode wrapped up with Brittnee Camelle and Melissa Jiménez facing off for Team Usher. They sang Melanie Fiona's "Give It To Me Right." Adam joked that it was such a battle that the only thing the artists didn't do was box one another. He said he thought Brittnee had the strongest voice. Usher said he regretted putting Brittnee and Melissa on stage together because he wanted to keep both. Usher named Melissa the winner, but Adam and Shakira both tried to steal Brittnee. Brittnee decided to go with Adam. Incidentally, Monday night's episode also ended with a successful steal by Adam.NBC will air more of the battle rounds next Monday night.
