Aug. 14, 2007 — -- Summer is almost over and many are preparing to update their autumn wardrobes and prepare for back to school season.

An essential part of any look may ride on what you wear on your feet. But you don't have to break the bank to look chic.

"When you buy an expensive shoe you are paying for a name, for advertising, for the designers' costs," according to Lucky magazine special projects director Allyson Waterman. "Less expensive doesn't mean less quality. What's most important is comfort. Just because you see an expensive shoe doesn't mean it's cut for your foot and the same can be said for an inexpensive shoe."

It's a masculine shoe with the feminine high heel. The most versatile shoe of the season, it works with pants and skirt.
