June 26, 2006 — -- The much-anticipated first kiss between husband and wife Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman was "above average," according to the man who married them in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday evening.

"I wouldn't say it was the longest [kiss] in history -- I've seen some long ones -- but it was not too bad," Father Paul Coleman, the Kidmans' family priest, told "Good Morning America."

"Above average, if you want to know the truth."

Just after sundown, Kidman, 39, entered the candle-lit Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel on St. Patrick's estate wearing an ivory empire line silk organza and lace dress designed by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga. Her famous locks were flowing and curly under a long veil, and she carried a simple bouquet of white roses.

"She sort of had a radiant glow around her," Coleman said. "It took my breath away, and it took the breath of Keith -- and most of us -- away."

Kidman's wedding party consisted of her sister Antonia, who was maid of honor, and 13-year-old daughter Isabella who was her bridesmaid. Antonia's daughter, Lucia, was a flower girl. Urban's brother, Shane, was best man, and Kidman's son Connor, 11, was also reportedly part of the ceremony.

Coleman said Kidman's and Urban's eyes were "moist" as they exchanged the traditional Catholic wedding vows.

"They said that very clearly with great sense of what they were doing," Coleman said.

The Oscar winner and Grammy winner attended premarital counseling with Coleman in the Catholic tradition.

The priest said that they had focused on the couple's relationship with God and each other, and that he had stressed that they should always make time for each other in the future.

It is Urban's first marriage, and Kidman's second after her 10-year union with Tom Cruise ended in 2001.

"After they kissed, the whole place erupted in a great round of applause with cheers and joyous sounds," Coleman said. "It was an explosion, really, and a wonderful moment."

At the reception, Urban, 38, reportedly serenaded his new bride with one of his own songs, "Making Memories of Us."

Neil Finn followed Urban to the microphone, singing the Crowded House song "Fall at Your Feet."
