April 14, 2009 -- Boston Salty Legs Career Club Network, organized by Susan Kang Nam, meets in person and shares thoughts and referrals with members and other job clubs via blog posts, Twitter and Facebook. The group regularly features guest speakers who share their expertise on a range of topics.

According to Nam, the group is composed of artists, writers, consultants, businessmen and women.

"We are mothers, husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, sisters, brothers and friends. We are job seekers, job finders, podcasters and bloggers. We are attractive, well-dressed men and women attempting to balance our lives. And we are getting shushed."

Salty Legs members include men and women; job seekers looking for full-time employment; independent contractors trying to grow their client base; and full-time employees who lend support and want to expand their networks.

Working together, Salty Legs members are building a cohesive and unique community for members and guest speakers on and offline. The group's goals include: creating opportunities to brainstorm among our peers to leverage our members' combined experience and expertise to advance each person's individual career goals; catering to our members' individual goals - professional, social and personal; and fostering a community of professionals that transcends gender, age and career status.

The group already has several successes to its credit -- members hired into full-time positions to others finding new free lance opportunities. Everyone benefits from the connectivity, accountability, and access to new ideas and information.
