John Legend Live in Central Park in 'GMA's' Summer Concert Series

— -- John Legend kicked off his "Evolver" Summer tour with "Good Morning America" on June 5.

Legend got an early start playing gospel paino with his grandmother and singing in the church choir as a child. A talented and determined John Legend has since turned his love of music into six grammys.

Though many know Legend as a passionate performer, he is also commited to fighting for social justice with his Show Me Camipagn. Named for a song on his second album, "Once Again," the Show Me Campaign's mission is to end poverty through sustainable development at the individual, family, and community levels.

Legend is working with Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, Millennium Promise, and the people of Mbola, Tanzania to implement practical solutions to poverty that include clean water, improved health care and education, higher-yielding agriculture, and internet connectivity.
