Dec. 24, 2006 — -- A Massachusetts family is praying for the return of one of their most cherished possessions this holiday season -- a baby Jesus that was part of a nativity scene that's been in their family for generations.

The Malone family from the Boston area has proudly displayed their homemade nativity scene on their lawn during the holidays for nearly 40 years. But recently they discovered that the baby Jesus figurine had been stolen.

Now, they're asking the thief or prankster to feel the true meaning of Christmas and return the figurine.

"It is upsetting," said Sean Malone, Jr., whose father began the nativity scene tradition. "It's been part of the family tradition for years.

"It would be great to bring back this Christmas gift and bring back Jesus," he said.

The family discovered that the Jesus figurine was missing Tuesday when Malone's mother stopped by on the way home from the store to look at the nativity scene.

"She was very upset," Cummings told "Good Morning America Weekend Edition" on Sunday. "My dad built it. We've all had a hand in taking it up and taking it down."
