— -- Who says cops have to be serious all the time?

One Kansas City, Missouri, police officer’s dance moves are going wildly viral—for all the right reasons.

On Aug. 10, Officer J. Krebs was challenged by his partner, Officer A. Smith, to a dance-off with a group of neighborhood kids in the middle of the street, and boy did Krebs bring his A-game.

"We went up to handle a call and I had been dancing in the car all day long," Krebs told ABC News. "We were leaving and these kids started busting a move as we were driving by them. I turn the car around and my partner was like, ‘If you have a dance-off with him I’ll give you some Jolly Ranchers.'"

Without missing a beat, Krebs busted out a number a number of hilarious moves from an Irish jig-like hopping dance, to John Travolta’s disco-like “Stayin’ Alive” signature finger-pointing move to ultimately stealing the show by hitting the ground and twirling around in circles breakdance-style on his hand.

The kids probably have a different story, but if you ask Krebs, he definitely won the competition.

"I feel like I won because I’m the one doing all the dancing," he said.

The YouTube video of the arresting dance routine has already been viewed more than 40,000 times since the Kansas City Police Department posted it less than 24 hours ago.

“Maybe we'll start including dancing as a course at the Academy, because it sure looks like we could use it,” the police department joked on their Facebook page.
