Strawberry Sunshine Smoothie

Springtime . . . year-round. That's what this smoothie offers as by being adaptable with fresh or frozen strawberries. Serving up vitamin C, calcium, potassium, vitamin D, protein and even fiber! But the real perk is the refreshing feeling you get during and after drinking it—one that appeals to the taste buds and also satisfies the body with energy that lasts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup low fat or fat free milk
  • 1/2 medium banana (approximately 3 1/2–4")
  • 1/2 cup nonfat vanilla Greek-style yogurt *
  • 2 teaspoons ground flaxseed (optional)
  • (Ice if you like for texture/volume, though it's creamier without.)
  • Cooking Directions

    Place all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Adjust the consistency with water or ice, if desired. Serve immediately.
