Velveeta Macaroni and Cheese, Dip Recipes

Nov. 6 -- Velveeta, the family-friendly cheese that comes in a familiar yellow box, can be used for a surprising variety of recipes from macaroni and cheese, to salsa dip.

Here are the recipes that were prepared on Good Morning America, and some other Velveeta favorites, in celebration of Velveeta's 75th anniversary.

Velveeta Ultimate Macaroni & Cheese

(Prep: 5 minutes; Cook: 15 minutes )

2 cups (8 oz.) elbow macaroni, uncooked 3/4 lb. (12 oz.) Velveeta cheese product, cut up 1/3 cup milk 1/8 tsp. pepper

1.Cook macaroni as directed on package; drain well. Return to pan. 2. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Cook on low heat until prepared cheese product is melted, stirring frequently.

Makes 4 (1-cup) servings.

To save 70 calories and 10 grams of fat per serving, prepare with Velveeta Light reduced fat cheese product.

Velveeta Ultimate Grilled Cheese

(Prep: 5 minutes; Cook: 5 minutes )

8 slices white bread 6 oz. Velveeta Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, sliced 8 tsp. soft margarine

1. Top one of the bread slices with prepared cheese product and second bread slice.

2. Spread outside of sandwich evenly with margarine. 3. Cook in skillet on medium heat until lightly browned on both sides.

Makes 4 servings.

Alternative: Prepare as directed, using Velveeta reduced fat Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product as a substitute.

Velveeta Salsa Dip

(Prep: 5 minutes; Microwave, 5 minutes)

1 lb. (16 oz.) Velveeta Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, cut up 1 cup Taco Bell Home Originals Thick 'N Chunky Salsa Wheat Thins Snack Crackers

1. Microwave Velveeta and salsa in 1-1/2-quart microwavable bowl on high, 5 minutes or until Velveeta is melted, stirring after 3 minutes. 2. Serve hot with crackers.

Makes 24 (2-Tbsp.) servings.

Kraft Kitchens Tip: To make Velveeta Cheesy Chili Salsa Dip, assemble dip as directed, stirring in 1 can (15 oz.) chili. Microwave as directed. Makes 36 (2-Tbsp.) servings.
