June 20, 2007 — -- Tuesday's discovery of an abandoned newborn 40 miles away from the Ohio home of a missing pregnant woman raised concerns and questions about her disappearance.

Hallie Redman discovered a baby in a sleeper and nestled in a basket on her doorstep Tuesday.

Some wonder whether the baby found is the daughter of Jessie Davis, a 26-year-old woman who was nine months pregnant when she disappeared a week ago. The Ohio resident and single mom was two weeks away from giving birth to a baby girl she planned to name Chloe.

Redman said she did not believe it was Davis' child, but Davis' relatives and law enforcement officials are waiting on the result of a DNA test to determine whether the child is Chloe Davis.

Tuesday night police released a supermarket-surveillance photo showing Davis with her 2-year-old son, Blake, the last day she was seen.

In Canton, Ohio, the man who fathered Davis' children, police Officer Bobby Cutts, was temporarily suspended while his department investigated the Davis case. Cutts maintains he had nothing to do with the disappearance.

Earlier in the week, authorities searched his home. They said Cutts was cooperative.

Overnight another woman who had a child with Cutts told ABC News she had obtained a restraining order against him because of what she called his aggressive behavior toward her.

"From what I've experienced he seems to be a guy that doesn't think there are consequences for his actions," said model Nikki Giavasis. "He will be very aggressive and intimidating and threatening and then not really be punished for anything he has done."

Davis' mother, Patty Porter, discovered she was missing Friday after stopping by her home. Porter found her grandson home alone, soiled and hungry. Blake repeated strange phrases like, "Mommy's in the rug" and "Mommy broke the table."

Police said Davis' comforter and sheets were missing from the bedroom along with her cell phone. They also found bleach poured on the floor.

"Jessie's vehicle was still there. Her purse is still there," said Sgt. Terry Curry, of the Stark County Sheriff's Office in Ohio.
