Take a look. watch as three police officers run to this pickup truck after it veered off the road, slammed into this building and burst into flames. Immediately grabbed my fire extinguisher out of the truck and ran to the car, smashed the passenger window to vent late the car, completely filled with smoke and then tried to knock down the flames with the fire extinguisher. thick, dark smoke billows and the 38-year-old driver trapped inside, conscious but unresponsive. I don't think he would have been able to breathe in the car much longer due to the amount of smoke. One officer smashes the back window while another cuts the driver's seat belt and drags him out to safety. This morning not surprisingly these three fearless officers are being hailed as heroes. I wouldn't consider myself a hero. It's our job and I'm sure that any of us anywhere would do the same to save a person's life regardless of the situation. Even pulling someone from a burning car comes naturally to them. One of those things you don't think about when doing it but sit back after and go, wow, that could have been a lot worse or could have gone a different way.
