We want to switch gears to a deadly shooting rampage in los Angeles. A man in custody suspected of shooting seven people over a span of four days killing four of them and injuring the others. ABC's gio Benitez has more details on the suspected serial killer. Good morning, gio. Reporter: Good morning, this is the kind of case police call crazy. Investigators in L.A. Believe the suspect acted alone randomly shooting people on streets and freeways and right now he's behind bars. This morning, Los Angeles police calling 34-year-old Alexander Hernandez a ruthless serial killer responsible for killing four and seriously injuring three more in a shooting spree that spanned several days and multiple crime scenes. Nothing makes a homicide investigator's heart beat faster than realizing he has a serial killer. That's what this man was. Reporter: The attacks began last Thursday when police say he opened fire on 48-year-old hildardo morales while he sat in his truck, Sunday he ambushed a family of five on their way to church. 23-year-old Mariana Franco was killed. Her parents are still hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Two gunshots. Reporter: Investigators say the rampage ended with two more victims shot and killed before Hernandez was taken into custody Sunday evening after a standoff with police. Pistol grip shotgun was taken into custody at the time he was taken into custody on his person. Reporter: Hernandez is charged with capital murder and attempted murder and is expected to be arraigned this afternoon. And it turns out Hernandez was initially arrested and charged with animal cruelty after police say he shot three dogs.
