Transcript for Mom Invents App for Finding Your Kids
Now to a Texas mom who's taking control of her kids' smartfoaps. She's developed an app that can turn off their phones if they're ignoring her calls and texts. ABC's Linzie Janis has that story for us. Reporter: For a mother of two Sharon, there's not much that stands in her way in serving in the gulf war to running marathons even climbing mountain kilimanjaro. One of her biggest challenges. Your call has been forwarded to an automated -- Reporter: Getting her kids to answer her phone calls. We just had it. We were livid. Reporter: So Sharon a former teacher researched how to make an app on the internet creating one called, ignore no more. Clever little app that helps a parent gain control over their child's phone by limiting the features on their phone. Reporter: The app available for 1.99 per android phones must be downloaded on both a parent's phone and a child's. The parent is then able to lock their kids' phone with just a push of a button. Simply going to press lock Bradley's phone and if you watch my son's phone it's going to go blank. Reporter: Then their child has to call them back in order to get the four-digit password. So what does her son think about her invention? I thought it was a good idea but for other people, not me. Reporter: The fact that apps like these are being created is a sign to me of what I'm seeing in today's youth which is they tend to not respect their parents' rules. Reporter: Despite her son's lack of enthusiasm she says it seems to be doing the trick. I'm going to have to give him credit. Every since I put the app on his phone, I've only had to lock it once. Reporter: For "Good morning America," Linzie Janis, ABC news, New York.
