Reporter: This morning the man nicknamed blade runner for his artificial legs appeared emotionless as he entered the south african courtroom. In an exclusive interview, his agent, says his client has spent the last four months grieving. If you get him on a down day, still shedding a lot of tears. Reporter: Pistorius said he shot ace 29-year-old model girlfriend reeva steenkamp early valentine's morning by accident thinking he was an intruder inside the bathroom of his south african mansion. He said he was not wearing his legs at the time. I mean he's scared of the he's a scared young man. People don't realize when you take those legs off, he's this high. Reporter: But prosecutors say he knew steenkamp sleeping in the same bed was in the bathroom and that he intended to shoot and kill her. This man doesn't believe it. He says steenkamp was already making plans to join him at competitions overseas. I wanted to show her what my world is about. If you have all these things happening and planned, you are going just and not shoot the person you love premeditated murder no way. Reporter: While pistorius awaits his fate he is training in a gym because his agent says in the back of everyone's mind are the rio games in 2016. Confident that he will run again one day. Reporter: Reeva steenkamp's parents were not in the courtroom as the magistrate postponed the hearing until august 19th which would have been steenkamp's 30th birthday.
