Answer: Razadyne is the brand name of galantamine, one of the cholinesterase inhibitors. So as with the other drugs in this class, Razadyne boosts the activity of the most important chemical mediating memory and cognition in the brain, namely acetylcholine.
Individuals with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease who take Razadyne can expect some modest degree of improvement of memory, other cognitive functions such as language, and judgment, and ability to communicate, and perhaps some reduction in the occurrence of behavioral problems such as agitation.
