— -- Question: I have had two heart attacks before and now have been diagnosed with ventricular tachycardia. Is the ventricular tachycardia related to my prior heart attack?

Answer :Most of the time, when we see patients with ventricular tachycardia in practice that have had heart attacks, this ventricular tachycardia uses the scar as part of their mechanism.

In these patients, indeed, because this ventricular tachycardia comes back frequently, these patients normally will need a defibrillator that will then keep them alive. So we are very concerned about patients with ventricular tachycardia if they have had prior heart attacks.
