Does Diabetes Increase My Risk for Breast Cancer?

Question: Does diabetes increase my risk for breast cancer?

Answer: There's a number of reasons to investigate whether or not diabetes would increase risk of breast cancer -- primarily because of the hormonal imbalances and growth factors that we know are associated with having diabetes. There's really not many studies that have been conducted that have examined the question of diabetes (and the) future risk of breast cancer. The answer is not really clear at this time, but there isn't any striking evidence that it does.
