Malaria Deaths Twice As High As Previously Reported

To make matters worse, the funding pool for the Global Fund, the world's biggest financial contributor to the fight against malaria, is growing shallow and experts say they won't reach the eradication goal without more resources.

"It's a tragedy that there isn't more funding because malaria is cheap to treat and easily treatable," said Dr. Joseph Vinetz, professor of medicine at University of California at San Diego.
