— -- A storm chaser in Australia caught the moment lightning just missed a Qantas airplane.
The plane was landing at Sydney Airport today at the time of the near-miss.
Storm chaser Daniel Shaw told ABC News he thought the lightning was less than a mile behind the aircraft.
Two people have already been struck by lightning in recent days in Australia as the weather has become increasingly turbulent. Rain, hailstones and thunder swept through Sydney’s southern and central regions for the second time in eight days.
