— -- When life gives you potatoes, you...make an inspirational SnapChat story?

Well, that's what happened when British woman Maria Khan asked her younger sister to help her make dinner one evening. What Khan, 19, didn't expect was that her sister Noor, 12, would also provide an inspirational reflection that has since gone viral.

Noor wrote on SnapChat with a picture of their dinner prep, "People are like potatoes. The colour of skin or marks doesn’t matter."

"Because they’re all the same once the skin is removed," she added in a second Snap.

Khan shared Noor's thoughts on Twitter and her tweet was shared more than 26,000 times.

Noor told ABC News that she "didn't expect anybody to have a reaction" to her thoughts. In fact, her message came to her on a whim.

"I was just on SnapChat," she explained. "I just thought, 'I'll put it on my SnapChat.'"

Still, Khan is "happy and proud" that her sister was able to affect her followers in such a way.

"It's really good to have the mindset of treating everybody equal no matter what their background," she told ABC News. "Even though it’s just potatoes, it does have a deeper meaning to it."
