Most Expensive Pizza in the World Sold in Canada
The old record was $178, held by Gordon Ramsay's white truffle pizza.
April 30, 2014— -- Most of us think of pizza as the go-to, fast-casual meal that usually doesn’t dig too much into your wallet. But at Steveston Pizza in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, you can get a full-on gourmet pie experience.
10 Most Expensive Restaurants in the World
The pizzeria sells what may be the world’s most expensive pizza, at $450 per pie, more than double the previous Guinness World Record title held by Gordon Ramsay’s $178 white truffle pizza. This decadent pie features lobster thermidor, black Alaskan cod, smoked salmon, tiger prawns, and Russian Osetra caviar.
"It's not your usual Friday night pizza," owner Nader Hatami told CTV Vancouver. "I just kept on going with the ingredients.”
Not surprisingly, Hatami has only sold about eight of these over-the-top pizza creations, which he apparently created from his love of seafood. Stevetson also sells another, slightly-less pricey pizza pie for $120, which features Icelandic scampi, smoked steelhead, lobster ratatouille and roasted garlic. Many of Steveston’s menu creations are unusual, including toppings like Brie, Swedish mustard drizzle, wasabi-scented chicken and seaweed.
