No Boo-ing This Toddler's Halloween Costumes
Jessica Chavkin gets creative with her son's Halloween costumes.
— -- New York City mom Jessica Chavkin loves Halloween so much that when it comes to dressing her 16-month-old son in a costume, she chose to dress him in 24 different costumes, one for nearly every day of October.
Even more, this is the second year in a row that Chavkin has dressed up her son, Noah, in various costumes.
“I love Halloween,” Chavkin, the owner of a children’s clothing company, told ABC News. “I grew up with a mom who always made us amazing costumes and it’s my favorite holiday by far.”

“Last year I couldn’t settle on one costume for Halloween, so I made 31 instead,” she said. “We had so much fun last year that we decided to do it again this year.”
Chavkin, who posts the photos on Instagram and Tumblr, said the process has been even more fun this year.
“For the chef’s costume, he had so much fun putting the lid on and off the pot,” she said. “And for James Bond, he loved the Martini glass…he didn’t break it, just kept pretending to drink out of it.”
Of course, dressing a toddler who can walk and express his opinion in a different costume daily does not come without its challenges, which explains why Chavkin estimates they will only hit 24 of the 31 days in October this year.
“Most days he really likes to get involved and play with the props and other days he sees the props and says, ‘No,’ and I put the costume away and we play with something else,” Chavkin said. “I made him a dog costume and the background was a collage of photos of dogs and he wouldn’t face the camera because he was too obsessed with the fabric so we didn’t use that day’s photos.”
Last year Noah’s grand finale Halloween day costume was, appropriately, Noah’s Ark but Chavkin is still deciding what the final costume will be this year.
“We will see which of his costumes is the easiest to walk in,” she said.
