— -- In a rare, but happy coincidence, identical twin sisters Leah Rodgers and Sarah Mariuz have given birth on the same day at the exact same time.

"Crazy, but then again, kind of expected because this twin thing kind of just happens," Rodgers said live on "GMA" this morning. "So, I wasn't necessarily surprised. Ironically, I woke up to my water breaking at 5:30 in the morning and later, I put it together that she had sent me a text saying she was up since 4:30 in the morning, which would've been the exact same time in Colorado as it was in California. I think we had some similar things happening at the same times in our bodies, which is just wild."

The sisters, both 35, welcomed their firstborn children on June 30 at 1:18 a.m.

Rodgers had a son named Reid Joseph in Denver, Colorado, and Mariuz gave birth to a daughter, Samantha Lynne, in La Jolla, California.

The women said they didn't plan on getting pregnant at the same time. They did admit, however, that there was some "twin-tuition" going on during a recent holiday gathering.

"I just had this funny feeling, but it's true," Rodgers said of knowing her sister was pregnant before she was even told. "Thanksgiving, Sarah and Nick visited and when she got to my front door, I just knew she was pregnant."

Rodgers, who's older than Maruiz by 11 minutes, was the first to break the news that she was going to be a mother.

"She told me first," Maruiz said. "In fact, she handed me a gift maybe 30 minutes upon arrival to her place and once she extended her hand with the gift in it, I knew that something was up. Ultimately, she revealed that we were going to be an aunt and uncle, which was really exciting, but I allowed her just to have her moment, actually. I jumped up and down and screamed and was just really, really excited for her and her husband Kyle."

The sisters are hoping to re-unite their families as soon as possible.
