— -- The good news for Californian Amy Garavito is that she lost 150 pounds after undergoing gastric-bypass surgery.

The bad news for the married mother of six is that after her surgery in 2008 and subsequent weight loss, Garavito was left with both loose skin and an inability to dress for her new size.

Those two factors, according to Garavito, mean that people often mistake her for well beyond her 39 years.

“I do feel that I look 10 years older,” Garavito, of Merced, Calif., told ABC News. “I don't know what to do to my hair. I don't know what to do with the makeup. I don't own dresses, I don't own skirts.”

Garavito’s 11-year-old daughter, Alexis, told ABC News that it is time for her mom to have a makeover.

“She does deserve a makeover because she does a lot for us and she's been wanting this for a long time,” Alexis said.

Garavito appeared on “Good Morning America” today to get the makeover she, and her family, dreamed of.

Garavito entered the “GMA” time machine, where she got the full treatment from the “GMA” beauty dream team of stylist Gretta Monahan, hair stylist Ted Gibson and makeup artist Mally Roncal before she emerged a brand new woman.

"This is a dream come true for me," Garavito said after her first look in the mirror at her new self. "I don’t know what to say."

"I just fell in love again," said Garavito's husband, Ray. "From head to toe, I love it all."

The three stylists who transformed Garavito each revealed their own tips for viewers in situations similar to Garavito who want a new look.

Makeup Tip from Mally Roncal

Roncal says that sparse, bare eyebrows are something else that can definitely age you. She recommends that, even if you’re running late and need to cut corners on your beauty routine, always say to be sure to fill in your eyebrows, no matter what.

Style Tips from Gretta Monahan

1. Show some skin, but do it strategically.

2. Shop for ageless fits and fabrics and shapes that are flirty and flowy.

3. Choose on-trend accessories - even if you are classic or conservative – to keep your look modern and youthful.

4. Young up your shoes. Heels of any kind create a youthful lift, but, if you need to be comfortable, opt for a sleek ballet flat or riding boot.

5. A dose of denim instantly adds a casual, cool kick of kid-like confidence and maintains a structured silhouette for any outfit.

Hair Tips from Ted Gibson

1. When you lose a lot of weight, the shape of your haircut is very important. You want to elongate the neck, bring out the cheekbones and accentuate the eyes.

2. If you have finer hair, you’re looking for volume! Always use a volumizing shampoo and conditioner to start the process of building body off right.

3. If you have finer hair, color treating it can expand the cuticle, which gives the appearance of thicker, fuller hair.
