Here's How to Make Edible, Stackable Jell-O Legos
The playing and snacking options are endless.
— -- File this under something you never knew you needed, but definitely do. YouTuber Grant Thompson has engineered an easy way to make completely edible and stackable Legos using Jell-O.
The playing and snacking options are endless with this one, so here’s how to get started.
Step 1: Assemble your ingredients.
You’ll need a box of Jell-O, 2 packets of unflavored gelatin, one-half a cup of very cold water and one-quarter cup of corn syrup.
Step 2: Combine the ingredients.
Mix the corn syrup into the cold water until it’s dissolved, then add to a pot. Add both packets of unflavored gelatin and the entire packet of Jell-O. Mix until completely dissolved.
Step 3: Heat and stir the ingredients.
Heat the pot on the stove for about five to ten minutes over medium-low heat, stirring every few minutes to keep from burning.
Step 4: Pour mixture in Lego molds.
Once gelatin is completely liquefied and the syrup has thickened, pour into the Lego molds.
Step 5: Press Lego base into molds to make stackable.
Take the bottom base of a Lego set and press it into the molds as they cool to add indents on the bottom so they’re stackable.
Step 6: Take out of molds.
Let the molds cool for five hours and voila! Pretty, transparent, stackable and -- most importantly -- edible Legos!
Step 7: Repeat with different colors.
This step is optional, but makes for much more fun play/snack time.
Step 8: Stack and enjoy!
