'Modern Family' star Rico Rodriguez posts tribute to father who recently died
Rodriguez, who plays Manny on the show, appeared to be close to his father.
— -- Rico Rodriguez mourned the recent death of his father in a tribute posted to Instagram yesterday. It was clear from the post that the two were close.
"This has been the toughest week of my life," the "Modern Family" star wrote in the caption. "My Dad was the most kind hearted, loving, hard working, determined, and funny man I have ever known."
"I'm gonna miss your hugs. I'm gonna miss your advice," Rodriguez, 18, continued. "I'm gonna miss your smile, and I'm gonna miss your laugh. I know you're looking down at us right now giving us the green light to move forward. I miss you Daddy. I'll love you forever."
His father, Roy Rodriguez, was 52 years old. The actor did not reveal the circumstances of his death.
Sofia Vergara, who plays Rodriguez's mother on the ABC sitcom, tweeted a message of support for him.
