'Sex and the City' star Sarah Jessica Parker immortalized in a 26-pound wedding dress cake
Cake artist Daniel Dieguez said he made the cake in just two days.
— -- “Sex and the City” leading lady Carrie Bradshaw has always lived the sweet life. But cake artist Daniel Dieguez has taken it to a whole new level with a cake immortalizing Sarah Jessica Parker's character in her stunning wedding gown.
He said the 26-pound cake was made in just two days to be featured at Cake International in London for a show titled “Wedding Gowns Through the Ages.”
“I made the torso and head and prepared all the dress layers in Spain, then I set all in place at the show and finished it,” Dieguez told ABC News in an email. He is originally from Barcelona but now travels the world teaching cake crafting classes, he said.
He said that the main ingredient used for the cake, which features Bradshaw in her Vivienne Westwood wedding gown, is about 22 pounds of modeling chocolate mixed with fondant. The feathers in the headpiece are made of wafer paper and the entire thing was “hand painted with edible Magic Colours,” Dieguez explained, a type of paint used for elaborate cake decorating.
This masterpiece even got Parker’s attention.
She commented on his Instagram photo: “Oh my goodness. This is a first. Congratulations. You should be proud.”
