— -- Vice President Cheney delivered a straight-forward stump speech in Parma, Ohio at a Bush-Cheney '04 rally, highlighting the Bush Administration's accomplishments on the economy and the war on terror and criticizing Sen. John Kerry as a flip-flopper on both of these issues.

For the first half of his 25 minute remarks, Cheney acted as if he were giving a speech to a room full of Washington insiders instead of a packed hall full of supporters waving signs. Cheney often continued speaking over the crowd as they interrupted his speech with cheering and chants of "Four More Years."

As Cheney began his criticism of the presumptive Democratic nominee, the crowd once again started cheering. Cheney laughed and said, "This is the good part of the speech."

"I have no doubt that Ohio is going to support the Bush-Cheney ticket," Cheney said. "Today the American people can be confident of a better future, stronger economy and a nation that is more secure because of the leadership of George W. Bush."

At the end of his remarks, confetti and balloons fell down onto the crowd and Vice President Cheney stayed up on the stage for just two minutes, shaking hands with the people standing behind him. Cheney seemed uncomfortable and hot on stage by the end of the speech, taking off his glasses and wiping his face and head several times before greeting those people behind him.

Vice President and Mrs. Cheney were joined on stage for a brief appearance by their eldest granddaughter, Kate Perry, who became a big sister again yesterday. Her mom, Liz Cheney Perry, gave birth to the Cheney's first grandson, Phillip Richard Perry, yesterday in Washington, D.C.

Kate Perry was introduced by her grandmother and quickly ran off the stage, her work done for the morning.

Cheney continues on to Wheeling, W.V. for another campaign rally.
