Wisconsin recall election, plus more to watch for Tuesday in politics

— -- The Wisconsin recall election is the hot topic Tuesday in politics. At stake: Republican Governor Scott Walker's job and the power and influence of big labor. The recall election is the product of political fallout from Walker ending collective bargaining for public employees in 2011.

Question: Will the results of the Wisconsin election signal anything — at all — about how the presidential election will play out in November?

Just for the record, there are primaries Tuesday in California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota.

Fundraising never ends in a presidential campaign, and Mitt Romney will be doing just that in Texas.

On Capitol Hill, Senate Democrats will try to advance a bill that calls for equal pay in the workplace. The legislation, which would require companies to show that differences in wages are not based on gender, is not expected to win the necessary 60 votes.

And then there is this: Wisconsin Republican and possible VP pick Paul Ryan will headline a "Mad Men"-themed gala dinner in Washington, D.C., Tuesday hosted by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a free-market think tank.
