Jury Decides Former Rep. William Jefferson Should Forfeit Assets

This afternoon a federal jury in Alexandria, Va., decided that former U.S. Representative William Jefferson, D-La., should forfeit $470,000 and 30 million shares of stock he had obtained through illegal activities. On Wednesday, Jefferson was convicted of 11 of 16 counts of bribery, conspiracy, money laundering, racketeering and violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
